Thanksgiving...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! On the actual 'turkey' day we went to my mom and dad's. All of my family and Bryan's family (except his sister-she had to work) was there. Bryan's brother Scott and his wife Tara and their little son Eli came up from Georgia for the holiday. We stuffed ourselves with all sorts of yummy food. Then on Friday we had another dinner at Annette's, Bryan's mom. More yummy food and alot more family. Saturday we had Bryan's dad and his wife over and ate some more. I just recently recieved my 'ribbon' from weight watcher's stating that I lost my first ten pounds . . . well . . . I found it this weekend. I feel so bloated and huge. Oh . . . but how I enjoyed the food. The company too! It was a really great Thanksgiving. There are so many things to be thankful about. I'm just glad that the whole family was able to get together. At Bryan's mom's we had an early Christmas for the kids. Scott and Tara won't be here so they brought gifts for our kids and Annette, Kim, and our famiy gave our gifts to Eli. We renamed Thanksgiving to 'Eli's Christmas'. That boy is so spoiled. Everyone went hog wild buying him gifts. He should have enough clothes and toys until we see him again, or at least until we ship them his 1st birthday gifts in May. I'm going to download some photos on my bebo site later this week. Eli is such a doll, I'll also have some new pictures of Haley. You'll have to check them out! I hope everyone else's holiday was as enjoyable as ours.

Finger cramps...

I use to love sitting down at my computer and blogging. Lately typing anything extra makes me tired. I've been trying to get thru my basic keyboarding course and let me tell you, my hands, wrist, and forearms are getting cramped all of the time. Not to mention my mom and I have been scrapbooking. Not just any scrapbooking either. My mom has pictures dating back to the 1890's and not just with one family. We have both sets of my grandparents, their parents, and their parents...needless to say we have about 90 hours into it so far and we still aren't out of the 1930's. I get to type name and story tags on each picture. It is a lot of fun though. I love learning about our family history and origin. My mom is a die hard geneology nut. She has been tracking down family history since the 80's and in the last decade (since retiring) has worked on it almost daily. She not only has a ton of pictures but also the information on each person. It's really neat, we are ready to do my grandparents (both) wedding albums. They were both ( dad & mom's parents) married in 1937, I think? So far we have enough pictures to fill two albums. She comes over on Wednesday mornings and we spend a couple of hours trying to date, name, and arrange each picture on pages. During the rest of the week, when I have time, I get on the computer and make up the tags. Print them, cut them out, paste them to black paper, cut it out and then it is ready to paste onto to the photo page. (I like to border my tags) One page takes me about a half an hour. So far we have 78 pages completed and I still have another 6 to do before tomorrow morning and guess what? I decided to update my blog instead. lol That's ok I completed almost 20 this last week. I'll try to update more than just weekly but lately it's been too difficult. I still try and read everybody elses though. lol Have a great week.

I'm back...

First I'd like to apologize to my readers...I'm sorry that I haven't been a very good blogger! Since right before Halloween I've been very busy.

Those who might of read 'Hick Heaven' will already know that we had a Halloween 'alternative' party. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. I wasn't too prepared but all went well. The kids had fun and that is what mattered the most. We had some games for them and every family that came brought candy for every kid, my kids are still finishing their candy off. We went trick or treating 'old school'. We went to the same houses that I did as a kid. All farm houses, where the ladies don't bring the candy to the door. You must walk in through the house to the kitchen where they can have a good look at you and talk a bit. It took us an hour and a half to go to 9 houses. lol Four of the houses had women who are 'shut ins' , so we decided to treat them this year with fruit baskets and homemade apple butter ( thank you 'Hick Heaven'). The ladies loved it! It was my favorite part of the night and next year that will be my main focus with kids - treat others!

A week ago my online school materials arrived. I'm taking a medical transcription course. Of course it's been so long since I've done anything especially typing that I opted to take a basic keyboarding course for medical assistants too. Which I'm in the process of right now. Let me tell you my wrists and fingers are killing me! I have only been averaging 45 words per minute. Of course I'm at the beginning of the course. Hopefully I'll get my speed up to 70 words per minute by the time I finish the course. Once I'm done with the basic keyboarding I'll start the medical transcription course and hopefully be working from home by next summer. Bryan would then like to start college probably something to do with art.

I feel as though the year 2007 will be a good one for us. Our son Wil will be on Bryan's insurance by January and we will no longer need medicaid! Praise the Lord! I'm thankful that we've had it all this time but I'm ready to move on. The next raise that Bryan gets will push us over the income limit, as it stands right now, if Bryan makes an extra $200 a month we'll lose it anyway. Which is why I'm taking this course, we can finally have a larger income. Once I start working it should hopefully double our income if not triple it. I so can't wait!

Also today Wil finally got his school assistant. For those of you who don't know since school started in August I've had to go to his school erveryday to do his changings and feedings. I feel as though I live in that place. It was suppose to be temporary......four months later........I 'm still doing it. It wasn't the schools fault, there was no one to hire. As of today I finally got my relief! Yay!!!! Tonight Wil had 'power soccer'. He did great! My parents went to watch his practice and they really enjoyed it! Wil was showing off and having a blast. It's neat to see him in his niche.

Saige made student council at his school and last Saturday went to (I think) Hammond, Indiana to a student council gathering. He learned more of what the student council does and he had a lot of fun. I'm so glad that he is getting involved in extra school activities. Not to mention he is an assistant coach on Wil's soccer team. The coach calls him 'Coach Wigge', Saige is eating it up!

Life has been good but very busy! I will try not to neglect my blogging duties anymore. I don't want to recieve any 'hate' mail. lol
